2. Personal data we collect
• Contact and account details: name, delivery and billing address, email address, telephone number.
• Order details: products purchased, order value, order history, and communications about your order or a warranty claim.
• Payment information: your payment is processed securely by Wix Payments, our website and payments platform; we do not see or store your full card details.
• Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and cookie data collected via our website (see Section 8, Cookies).
• Correspondence: information you give us when you contact us by email, phone, or a contact form, including for customer service, product advice, or warranty claims.
Please make sure the information you give us is accurate and up to date, and let us know if it changes — for example your delivery address or contact details — so we can fulfil your order and contact you if needed, including for any product safety or recall notice.
3. How we use your data, and our legal basis
• To process and fulfil your order, including passing your name and delivery address to the courier or fulfilment partner handling your delivery (Contract).
• To communicate with you about your order, delivery, or a warranty claim (Contract / Legitimate interests).
• To provide customer service and respond to enquiries (Contract / Legitimate interests).
• To comply with our legal and tax obligations, e.g. keeping records of sales (Legal obligation).
• To send you marketing communications about our products, where you have opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time (Consent).
• To improve our website and understand how visitors use it, using cookies and analytics (Consent / Legitimate interests).
• To prevent fraud and protect our business (Legitimate interests).
4. Who we share your data with
We share personal data only where necessary to run our business, with:
• Wix.com, which hosts our website and processes card payments on our behalf.
• Delivery and courier companies engaged to deliver your order.
• HDM Wholesale, a third-party supplier who fulfils and dispatches certain orders directly to customers in full on our behalf (dropshipping) — where an order is fulfilled this way, we share the delivery details HDM Wholesale needs to dispatch your order.
• Product manufacturers, where necessary to process a warranty claim on your behalf.
• Professional advisers, regulators, and authorities, where required by law (e.g. HMRC).
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
5. International transfers
Some of the providers we use (such as Wix) may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum or an applicable adequacy decision.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep order and transaction records for as long as necessary to fulfil your order, honour the warranty period applicable to the products you purchased, and meet our legal and tax obligations (normally at least 6 years for financial records). We keep marketing preferences until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; ask us to correct inaccurate data; ask us to delete your data; restrict or object to our processing; request a copy of your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@gosolarplug.com.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we have not handled your data correctly.
8. Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including those set by Wix and any analytics or advertising tools we use, to run the site and understand how it's used. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings and our cookie banner.
9. Children
Our website and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our business or the law. The current version will always be available at www.gosolarplug.com.
11. Contact us
