SolarPlug Terms & Conditions of Sale

Last updated: 28 August 2026

1. About us

These terms apply to all orders placed via www.gosolarplug.com ("the Website"), operated by SolarPlug ("SolarPlug", "we", "us").

Trading as: SolarPlug

Registered company: Solar Plug Ltd, company number 17125578, registered in England and Wales

Trading address: Unit C2, Block C, Deal Enterprise Centre, Western Road, Deal, Kent, CT14 6PJ

Email: info@gosolarplug.com

Phone: 01304 696100

Website: www.gosolarplug.com

By ordering from us, you agree to these terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy, Delivery & Shipping Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy, and Warranty Policy, which form part of our agreement with you.

2. Products and orders

We sell plug-in solar kits and related components for homes, rentals, caravans, and chalets. We try to describe our products accurately, but colours, specifications, and packaging may vary slightly from images shown on the Website. Where we give estimates of potential energy savings or output (for example on our homepage), these are indicative only, based on typical conditions — actual results depend on your location, weather, shading, system size, and how you use the product, and are not guaranteed.

Placing an order is an offer to buy; a contract is only formed once we send you an order confirmation email. We may decline or cancel an order — for example due to stock availability or a pricing error — in which case we'll refund any payment you've made.

3. Prices and payment

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (£). We are not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our prices. Payment is taken at checkout by card via Wix Payments, our secure payment processor; we do not store your full card details.

We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct, but if we discover a pricing error before your order is dispatched, we'll contact you to give you the choice of continuing at the correct price or cancelling for a full refund; if we're unable to reach you within a reasonable time, we'll treat the order as cancelled and refund any payment you've made.

4. Delivery

See our Delivery & Shipping Policy for full details. In summary: we currently deliver to addresses in England only. Depending on the products ordered, your whole order will be dispatched either by SolarPlug directly from our premises in Kent, or by our fulfilment partner HDM Wholesale on our behalf — each order is fulfilled through one route only. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery; ownership passes once we've received payment in full.

5. Your right to cancel and returns

If you are a consumer, you have a legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, as well as further rights if goods are faulty under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. See our Returns & Refunds Policy for the full process, timelines, and any exceptions.

6. Installation and compliance

Our products are designed so the core kit can be plugged in without an electrician or roof work. However, you are responsible for:

  • checking our products are suitable for your property and electrical setup before ordering;

  • following all instructions provided with the product;

  • ensuring your installation complies with applicable UK regulations, including G98 notification to your electricity network operator (DNO) where required; and

  • obtaining any structural, planning, or leasehold consent needed for your situation, for example if you rent your home.

We are not responsible for delays, costs, or outcomes relating to your DNO's approval process, grid connection, or any export limitation requirement, as these are outside our control. We provide guidance in good faith, but we are not responsible for losses arising from installation that does not follow our instructions or applicable regulations, or that is carried out incorrectly by you or a third party you engage — this may also affect the cover available under your product's manufacturer warranty (see our Warranty Policy). Nothing in this clause limits your statutory rights regarding faulty goods.

7. Warranty

The products we sell are covered by a warranty provided by the manufacturer, not by SolarPlug; warranty periods and terms are set by each manufacturer and differ by product. See our Warranty Policy, and the warranty information provided with your specific product at the time of purchase, for the terms that apply to your order. Your manufacturer's warranty is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights against us under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

8. Your information

Please give us accurate and complete information when you order, including your delivery address and contact details, and let us know promptly if these change. We, or a manufacturer, may need to contact you using these details — for example about your delivery, a warranty claim, or a product safety or recall notice — so please check your email (including spam/junk folders) regularly.

9. Our liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or for business losses (such as lost profits or savings) where you are a consumer buying for personal use. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law, or for your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Events beyond our control

We won't be responsible for delays or failure to perform our obligations caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, transport disruption, or supplier failure.

11. Complaints

If you're unhappy with your order or our service, please contact us at info@gosolarplug.com in the first instance so we can try to put things right. If we can't resolve a dispute, you may wish to contact the Citizens Advice consumer helpline for guidance, or pursue the matter through the small claims court.

12. Entire agreement

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Delivery & Shipping Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy, Warranty Policy, and your order confirmation, are the entire agreement between us for your order and replace any earlier discussions or documents about it. Nothing in this clause limits or excludes any liability for fraudulent misrepresentation, or affects your other legal rights.

13. Subcontracting and transfer

We may use subcontractors — including our fulfilment partner HDM Wholesale and delivery couriers — to perform our obligations to you. We may also transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, but this won't affect your rights or our obligations to you. You may only transfer your rights or obligations under these terms to someone else if we agree in writing.

14. Third party rights

A person who is not a party to these terms has no right to enforce any of its terms; this doesn't affect any right or remedy of a third party that exists, or is available, independently of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

15. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales (if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts). If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect. We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force when you place your order will apply to that order.
