SolarPlug Warranty Policy

Last updated: 28 August 2026

1. About this policy

The products we sell — including solar panels, microinverters, mounting kits, cabling, and accessories — are covered by a warranty provided by the product's manufacturer, not by SolarPlug. Warranty periods and terms are set by each manufacturer, vary by product, and may change over time as manufacturers update their own warranty terms.

This policy explains how manufacturer warranties generally work when you buy through us, and how they sit alongside your separate statutory rights against us as the retailer.

2. Who provides your warranty

Your product's warranty is provided and honoured by its manufacturer, under the terms that manufacturer sets for that product. The specific warranty period and terms that apply to your purchase are the ones stated on the product listing page, in the box or manufacturer documentation, or on the manufacturer's own website at the time you bought the item. (For example, certain microinverters have historically carried extended manufacturer warranties of up to 12 years — always check the manufacturer's current terms for your specific product, as these vary by model and manufacturer, and may change.)

SolarPlug is not the warranty provider and does not itself guarantee repair, replacement, or any other remedy beyond what the manufacturer's warranty provides. Our role is to help you get in touch with the right manufacturer and support your claim where we can.

3. Keeping your warranty valid

Keep your order confirmation or other proof of purchase safe, as the manufacturer will normally ask for this to process a warranty claim. Some manufacturers also require you to register your product after purchase to activate the full warranty period — check the documentation supplied with your product.

Unless a manufacturer's own terms say otherwise, warranties are given to the original purchaser and aren't automatically transferable if you sell, gift, or pass the product on to someone else — for example, if a portable kit moves with you to a new caravan or the property is sold. Check the specific manufacturer's terms if this applies to you.

4. What's typically covered

Manufacturer warranties generally cover manufacturing defects and failure of the product to perform as specified, for the period stated by that manufacturer. Exact cover, exclusions, and claims processes are set by the manufacturer and can differ between brands and products.

5. What's not covered

Manufacturer warranties don't normally cover the following, though you should always check the specific manufacturer's terms for your product:

  • damage from incorrect installation, wiring, or use that doesn't follow the product instructions;

  • damage from accident, misuse, unauthorised modification, or repair by anyone other than an approved technician;

  • normal wear and tear;

  • damage caused by weather events beyond the product's stated tolerances; and

  • issues caused by other equipment not supplied with the product.

6. How to make a warranty claim

Contact us at info@gosolarplug.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and photos or video where possible. Because the warranty is provided by the manufacturer rather than by us, we may need to refer your claim to them directly, or ask you to contact the manufacturer yourself using the details provided with your product — we'll let you know which applies and support you through the process where we can.

7. How this relates to your rights against us as the retailer

Your manufacturer's warranty is separate from, and doesn't reduce, your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 against us as the retailer — including your rights if goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose when you receive them. See our Returns & Refunds Policy for how those rights work. If an issue could be dealt with either under the manufacturer's warranty or under your statutory rights against us, you can choose which route to pursue.

8. Changes to warranty terms

Manufacturers may change the warranty they offer on a product at any time, and different manufacturers offer different terms. We try to keep our product listings up to date, but the manufacturer's own documentation for your specific product is the definitive source for the warranty that applies to your purchase.
